Wyndham Renews PGA Tour Stop Title

The PGA TOUR and Wyndham Worldwide have extended the hotel chain's title sponsorship for the Wyndham Championship, through 2012. Wyndham Worldwide's original four-year agreement was set to expire with this week's tournament at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.

"The Wyndham Championship has generated significant drama and considerable coverage as the final Regular Season tournament by finalizing the starting field for the Playoffs, particularly since the Playoffs were trimmed last year from a starting field of 144 players to 125," PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem said. The US Open starts in two weeks, but the USTA is already a big winner before a single shot has been struck at the season's final Grand Slam tournament. Long-time sponsors Citizen Watch and Polo Ralph Lauren are renewing US Open sponsorships in five-year pacts that are worth a total of "up to $28 million" according to a published report in SportsBusiness Journal written by Daniel Kaplan.

New Website Tries to Turn Campus Influence into Brand Donation Dollars

Every year more than 300,000 college organizations struggle to connect with brands and get sponsorship for the causes they are most passionate about, CampusSponsorship.com says.

Through the recently launched website, students complete online activities such as puzzles, quizzes, watching and rating a video and such; in exchange for a donation by the brands to the students’ organizations or causes.

After completing the activity students are invited to spread the word, and grow the brand's donation to the group, by asking friends and members to do the same activity. The idea behind Campus Sponsorship was incubated through DreamIt Ventures' startup accelerator program in Philadelphia.

Esurance has signed on as an official sponsor of the 2010 US Open. The comprehensive partnership includes on-site presence, media support of tournament television broadcasts, and an extensive prescence on USOpen.org, the official website of the US Open.

On-site at the 2010 US Open, Esurance will be provided with both courtside and ring signage in Arthur Ashe Stadium, as well as a booth on the grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Freightliner Re-Ups with NASCAR

Freightliner Trucks as extended their partnership as the Official Hauler of NASCAR. With the extension, the sponsorship, which started in 2006, will run through 2015.

Starting in 2011, NASCAR trailers will be pulled by the all new Freightliner Coronado with the Detroit Diesel DD15 engine equipped with BlueTec emissions technology.

NASCAR, along with many of the racing teams Freightliner sponsors, will serve as a demonstration platform for the machine.
