Texas Longhorns Launch Branded Retail Energy Option

DALLAS -- The University of Texas Men's & Women's Athletics programs today announced a landmark sponsorship program with Dallas-based Branded Retail Energy Company to create Texas Longhorns Energy (TLE). TLE, to be powered by one of the nation's top retail electricity providers, Champion Energy Services, will provide 100 percent renewable energy to alumni and fans in deregulated regions of Texas. Each new customer account will generate funds for sustainability initiatives for UT and UT Athletics.

EA and the Premier League on Thursday announced that EA SPORTS has become the Official Sports Technology Partner of the Premier League, expanding EA's current partnership with the League by four additional years. EA SPORTS branding will be featured on all live on-screen broadcasts of Barclays Premier League fixtures, and EA SPORTS will work with broadcasters to develop enhancements for match day broadcast analysis and increased fan interaction. AP Sources: IOC set to name P&G as global sponsor

The International Olympic Committee is ready to announce a new global sponsorship deal next week with the world's largest consumer products company.

A news conference is planned for Wednesday in London, where IOC president Jacques Rogge will unveil a multi-million-dollar agreement with American-based giant Procter & Gamble Co.

Four-year deal makes HP "official technology innovation partner"

The San Francisco 49ers have secured a multi-year sponsorship with Palo Alto-based, HP, it was announced Wednesday. HP which will serve as the presenting partner for the 49ers 2010 Season, including presenting partner of the 2010 49ers Training Camp. Terms of the deal were not released.

“We are very excited to have our first ever season presenting partner in HP. HP will have a strong brand presence integrated into the presentation of 49ers football – from training camp to the 2010 season,” said 49ers Chief Sales Officer John Vidalin. “Similar to the 49ers international relevance in football, HP’s technology innovation is international in scope so we’re excited to see a partnership between a pair of iconic brands headquartered in the Bay Area.”

Study: World Cup Sponsors Receive Higher Fan Recall Than NFL

Sponsorship measurement firm FanLab says that official sponsors of the 2010 World Cup received substantially higher fan recall than official sponsors of the National Football League, according to a new survey by the firm.

In two separate studies, fans of each sport were presented with three business categories and asked to select the official sponsor. In each of the categories presented to World Cup fans, the official sponsor was chosen most often. In the NFL study, the official sponsor was not recognized most frequently in any of the three categories surveyed. The categories selected and the results from the study are shown below.
