We currently have a role open in our Marketing department for a Brand Manager, Heineken – Hispanic Activation. This individual will be responsible for identifying, negotiating and activating all brand experience and product experience activities against the Hispanic Consumer. The position will have day to day management of the Brand experience agency as well as interface with Hispanic PR, Creative and Media agencies on specific projects.

Specific responsibilities will include:

Overall Brand Experience Management
o Actively participate in the development of Heineken Equity activation strategy, Led by Brand Director PR and Brand Activation. Identify sponsorship, partnership and other activation opportunities to recruit Mexican Hispanic Consumers and reengage Caribbean Hispanic Consumers.

o Lead the project management, execution and communication of Hispanic sponsorships to ensure alignment with brand platform and strategies (e.g. Transatlantic Festival, NYLFF, Mezclasonic, National Records & Latin Grammy’s). Lead cross functional project taskforce teams to roll out Hispanic initiatives.

o Lead the negotiation of all new sponsorship and brand experiences for the Hispanic consumer to deliver the desired brand experience and business impact.

o Lead PR activation of Hispanic Brand Activation & Sponsorship programs.

o Manage Brand Experience Agency in the development and activation of all sponsorship and event initiatives (Set clear KPI’s, budget parameters and overall agency evaluation metrics).

o Conduct post evaluation of all Brand experiences to ensure continuous learning and improvement.

o Work with Brand Director to oversee the development and execution of internal communication plan for employees, distributors and trade.

o Contribute to the development of ATL creative and media in support of key sponsorship initiatives (led by Brand Director).

o Manage Legal and Corporate Relations approval of all brand experience components and support elements.

Insight Generation
o Gather and propose consumer insight driven opportunities for activation against Hispanic Consumer.
o Gain strong trade insight and understanding (channel/distributor), ensuring all brand experiences achieve the defined goals.

Commercial Liaison
o Work closely with regional marketing and sales teams to help drive and support the successful sell-in and execution of sponsorship initiatives to distributor and retail partners.
o Gain and maintain ongoing understanding of channels, retail trade and relevant industries (sports, entertainment) and knowledge/understanding of Hispanic consumers and lifestyle.
o Contribute to business cases for proposed sponsorships to gain management team approval and facilitate annual post-evaluations to ensure continuous learning and improvement.

Hispanic Music Activation Platform
o Source landmark music activation platform in priority Mexican Hispanic markets for Heineken Lager for 2011 onwards. Develop local (& national if applicable) activation plan including PR and Media.

Extra Cold
o Develop proposal and activation plan for expansion roll out of Extra Cold refrigeration to ethnic Off premise. Develop and implement Creative, Media and PR plan. Develop and execute launch PR events. Ensure consumer PR is generated through all activities. Measure and evaluate against pre set KPI’s.

Latin Grammy’s
o Develop activation plan and manage stakeholder team to deliver best in class execution of Latin Grammy’s. Measure and evaluate against pre set KPI’s.

NY Latin Film Festival
o Develop and implement activation for NY Latin Film Festival. Evaluate and propose recommendations for 2010.

Media Merchandise
o Lead the implementation of all added value merchandising related to Hispanic media buys.

PR
o In conjunction with Brand Director, develop a national PR plan and initiatives for Hispanic consumers. The plan should be centered around key brand and product experience platforms. Further develop and continuously evaluate current PR platforms (Mezclasonic and National Records) to ensure they are delivering on Strategy.

Budget
o Supervise and track the Brand Experience Hispanic budget as determined by the VP, Marketing.

Planning
o Contribute to the development of annual operating brand plan with agencies and internal brand teams, channels and Regional Business Units to deliver the brand volume and EBIT goals set by Management Team.

Required Skills
· Bachelors Degree in Marketing or related field
· 4-6 years experience of Brand management/ Sponsorship management preferred
· Proven track record in developing impactful brand experiences for Hispanic consumers
· Proven connections within Hispanic (Mexican and Caribbean) music and lifestyle scene
· Bilingual (Fluency in English & Spanish)

Scope and Responsibilities:

1. Formulates plans, develops and implements a comprehensive strategic local and regional and international plan with Director of Marketing. Plan to define partnership, promotions potential, PR initiatives, membership and creative strategy. Marketing Manager to work hand in hand with Director to develop strategies, set objectives, budgets, staffing requirements and execute program activities. Aligns staff, resources, programs and activities to accomplish objectives through effective program development and implementation, contacts, coordination, and utilization of internal and external resources.
2. Ensures accomplishment of financial/budgetary goals and performance of partnership contract commitments. Oversees and coordinates details of programs within a wide range of functions and individuals.
3. Partnerships: Identifies, develops, negotiates and manages partnerships, in-kind contributions, and pursues partnership-marketing opportunities such as strategic partnerships and alliances. Sets goals and objectives, develops prospects and contacts, develops and implements an action plan, negotiates agreements, and ensures contracts are approved and executed.
4. Promotions: Creates, designs, costs, schedules, implements, tracks and manages promotional programs such as discount coupons, prizes, give-a-ways, and other special programs to increase attendance to the park. Establishes and evaluates relationships with national promotional organizations and oversees same with regional and local promotional partners. Negotiates and drafts promotional agreements, including terms and conditions. Ensures contracts are approved and executed. Gains exposure for promotions with radio, television and the press in conjunction with internal public and media relations staff. Develops joint strategies for promotional opportunities with LSI, other LEGOLAND theme parks, and local/regional theme parks. Works cooperatively with marketing and sales department staff to coordinate and maximize efforts and build synergy. Evaluates effectiveness of promotions and approaches and makes changes to meet targets.
5. Works actively with LEGO Systems, Inc. (LSI) and Team California to develop ideas and promotions featuring LEGO toy products. Develops programs that reach LEGO Maniac Club members to build synergy and increase attendance, awareness and revenue for LEGOLAND Florida.
6. Identifies and develops a network with counterparts in the attractions and entertainment field. Researches, analyzes and tracks competitor activities and collects data to identify current industry trends. Evaluates front-end and back-end promotions and performs competitive analysis with other theme parks relative to their promotions and sponsorships. Utilizes findings to convey information, make presentations, and assist in setting or adjusting targets and action plans.
7. Actively participates in industry organizations, trade shows, seminars, product launches, and other activities to represent and promote LEGOLAND while maintaining and developing a strong network of business contacts and prospects.
8. Develops the organizational structure, roles and responsibilities for the Partnership, Promotions, PR, membership and brand group. Provides program oversight, coordination and management of employees in the above group. Is responsible for hiring, training, development, performance management, team building, and other people management activities.
9. Work in tandum with Director and Media/Creative agency to develop media strategy and creative estategy. Including media buys, creative collateral, promtiosn with consumer based companies and meida agencies, etc
10. Serves as a contributing member on the Senior Marketing Management Team.

Required Skills
Background and Experience:

Requires at least seven years of progressive experience in partnership and promotions within a marketing department, preferably in a theme park, hotel/resort or closely related industry. Requires a track record of success in building strategic marketing alliances, selling advertising or other intangibles, and negotiating contracts. Requires demonstrated ability to develop programs to generate revenue and in-kind contributions to accomplish key revenue objectives. Requires at least three years of management experience with personnel leadership and/or program oversight responsibility.

Requires strong industry and business contacts (local, regional, national and international) with an in-depth understanding of the sponsorships and promotions. Requires demonstrated experience and strategic skills from initial start-ups to plans for succession after implementation. Ability to set and achieve promotions and sponsorship objectives, and effectively coordinate and manage contacts and relationships. Requires demonstrated skill in developing and delivering effective presentations, negotiating deals, and outstanding organizational, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Strong leadership, people management, team building, and project management skills required. Computer proficiency with ability to use Microsoft Office Products (Word and Excel) and database software is required. Requires the ability to build positive relationships and linkages with the business community to position and promote LEGOLAND Florida.

Education:

A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or closely related field (or equivalent education and experience) is required. Knowledge of foreign languages and cultures is desirable.

Other Requirements:

Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support park operations.

Must have a valid driver’s license, safe driving record and be willing to utilize own vehicle for business purposes.
