SUMMARY
Performs a variety of functions in an accurate and timely manner to implement the Marketing Department’s strategic event initiatives. Serves as primary contact with various marketing clients to ensure all event projects are planned and executed creatively and professionally, and in line with core brand equities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Acts as liaison between event organizers, media partners and marketing clients to ensure all event opportunities have appropriate background data on file. Ensures events are in line with brand strategy, as directed by the marketing department so that winery/brand presence is maximized at events, and they are fully leveraged to meet pre-planning deadline and execution standards of excellence.
• Reviews project proposal plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing the project. Maintains awareness of staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources for various phases of projects.
• Manages and ensures achievement of event marketing goals, objectives, and timelines.
• Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project is on schedule and within prescribed budget.
• Advises and supports event organizers and marketing department with sponsorship and merchandising opportunities, high profile table locations, engaging partners, and seminar and demonstration opportunities.
• Supports event staff and Local Sales Directors (On-Sale and Retail) in ensuring that winery/brand presence is maximized at events in their respective regions and cities. Maintains up-to-date communications with event contacts on all event activities including spokesperson, leveraging opportunities, staffing and wine deliveries.
• Leads core logistical tasks surrounding the planning and execution of event opportunities, event sponsorships, media partner events and wine festivals.
• Develops contextually relevant and memorable event merchandising materials for brand clients.

• Makes sound recommendations for featured wines for all events based on inventory, brand focus, sales initiatives, etc. Gains approval from marketing clients using department proposal guidelines for content.
• Facilitates revision and approval process of event sponsorship contracts.
• Works with marketing, creative and production departments to ensure an effective large-format bottle production process is in place annually. Coordinates large-format bottle donation requests, including bottle signatures and etching requests.
• Coordinates brand advertisements in event programs and facilitates approval and artwork submission.
• Coordinates wine orders (distributor withdrawal or Modesto Warehouse), including shipment and delivery. Responsible for accurate labeling and on-time deliveries to all events.
• Drafts and submits abbreviated Event Overviews to Marketing Clients and Spokesperson Travel Coordinator for spokesperson travel planning purposes.
• Works closely with Marketing clients and Creative (Style Team or Creative Directors, depending on project) to ensure ongoing development of key event merchandizing materials (facilitates design requests as needed), including making recommendations and sample gathering. Completes and submits Design Requests for these projects.
• Participates in developing specialty auction donations with marketing teams and Marketing Manager by making recommendations that will garner press recognition and generate bids above costs. Provides follow-through support to Community Affairs Event Specialist (North Coast).
• Ensures Events Department Management is continually up-to-date on completion of events tasks and paperwork.
• Works closely with Events Department Management to ensure events are on brand strategy.
• Provides guidance to Event Planning Assistant to ensure all event paperwork is properly filled out and submitted in a timely manner.
• Works with outside vendors on special projects (caterers, private party venues, printers, electricians, etc.).

This role will work closely with the VP, Creative Development and Brand Managers to create and develop attention-getting and effective promotions that connect with today’s consumers, while maintaining brand and creative integrity for the ABC and its program franchises.
Specifically, the role will be responsible for the management and direction of:
Sales Marketing and Promotional Partnerships
- Assist ABC Sales by creating innovative promotional activities with advertisers that help secure advertiser relationships, spending levels and/or drive incremental revenue.
- Develop new marketing products that create new promotional and revenue opportunities.
- Develop new opportunities for advertiser integration and promotional partnerships within marketing elements and other coordinated efforts.
